Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse Position

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in Outpatient Services/Ambulatory Care at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from admission to discharge.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and evaluate pre-op and post-op patient care
- Obtain supplies, equipment, and medications needed for patient care
- Prepare and monitor patients for surgeries and procedures
- Administer medication and IV therapy
- Receive and initiate physician orders
- Provide pre-op and post-op patient teaching and emotional support
- Ensure all patients have met discharge criteria
- Complete patient follow-up calls post-procedure to evaluate patient care
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Acute care experience in Surgical Services – preferred
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – preferred
St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with over 360 beds. The facility is home to St. David's Children's Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
