About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Care team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate preoperative and postoperative patient care
  • Obtain necessary supplies, equipment, and medications for patient care
  • Prepare and monitor patients for surgeries and procedures
  • Administer medication and IV therapy as needed
  • Receive and initiate physician orders
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative patient teaching and emotional support
  • Ensure all patients meet discharge criteria
  • Complete patient follow-up calls post-procedure to evaluate patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Acute care experience in Surgical Services - preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - preferred
