Ambulatory Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Care team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and evaluate preoperative and postoperative patient care
- Obtain necessary supplies, equipment, and medications for patient care
- Prepare and monitor patients for surgeries and procedures
- Administer medication and IV therapy as needed
- Receive and initiate physician orders
- Provide preoperative and postoperative patient teaching and emotional support
- Ensure all patients meet discharge criteria
- Complete patient follow-up calls post-procedure to evaluate patient care
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Acute care experience in Surgical Services - preferred
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - preferred
