About This Role

FamilyCore is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family School Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in delivering Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) services to at-risk students attending local public schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement SEL Services: Design, coordinate, and implement individual and group SEL services to support the social and emotional development of at-risk students.
  • Collect and Report Data: Collect, enter, and report client data outputs and outcomes to ensure the effectiveness of our services.
  • De-escalation Techniques: Utilize working knowledge of de-escalation techniques and methods to create a safe and supportive environment for students and families.
  • Strengths-Based Assessments: Perform strengths-based assessments to identify the unique needs and strengths of each student and family.
  • Goal Development and Monitoring: Develop and monitor goals with students and families to ensure progress and success.
  • Parental Engagement: Obtain parental permission and develop effective working relationships with parents to ensure their involvement in their child's education and well-being.
  • Community Resource Referral: Identify, locate, and refer students and families to appropriate community resources to meet their identified needs.
  • Home Visits and Transportation: Conduct home visits and provide safe transportation of students and families as needed.
  • Data Management and Confidentiality: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student and family data.
  • Professional Development and Cultural Competency: Participate in ongoing professional development and cultural competency training to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; 1-3 years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Competencies: Basic proficiency in MS Word and Excel required; ability to facilitate and manage groups of students; knowledge of SEL curriculum and de-escalation techniques; excellent written and verbal communication skills; CPR and First Aid certification; child passenger safety training; valid Illinois Driver's License and proof of insurance.
