Job Summary

Central Washington University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Biochemistry to join our Chemistry department in Ellensburg, Washington. This is a critical role that will contribute to the university's mission by enhancing the academic experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a wide range of courses in biochemistry and chemistry, including introductory and advanced courses
  • Mentor students in research projects and provide guidance on academic and professional development
  • Contribute to the department's research initiatives and publish scholarly articles
  • Provide service to the university and the community through committee work, outreach, and other activities

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry or chemistry or a related field
  • Excellent teaching and research skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong commitment to Academic Excellence and Student Success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University-level teaching experience
  • Knowledge of bioinorganic or inorganic chemistry
  • Postdoctoral research or employment in a field of biochemistry or bioinorganic chemistry
  • Experience in curriculum development and improvement
  • Potential to obtain external funding
  • Potential to mentor and educate students who will serve diverse populations
