Position Overview:
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Vascular Technologist conducts sophisticated diagnostic examinations of the vascular system utilizing advanced echo, ultrasound, and Doppler technology.
CHRISTUS Health is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services, with a focus on specialized care including comprehensive cardiovascular diagnostics, surgical services, and rehabilitation programs.
Our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art imaging centers and medical plazas that support a wide range of healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts ultrasound evaluations of cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to aid in the diagnosis of vascular disorders.
- May execute therapeutic interventions such as pseudoaneurysm compression.
- Maintains accurate records of test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of results.
- Depending on departmental needs, may also perform routine abdominal, small parts, breast, OB/GYN, and additional vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Assists physicians with various procedures including biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and needle localization.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills
Completion of an accredited Medical Sonography or Radiology Technology Program is mandatory.
B. Experience
1-2 years of experience in vascular ultrasound is preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT is required. BLS certification is also necessary.
