Key Responsibilities of the Recreational Activities Coordinator:
- Assist in the design, execution, and assessment of activity programs within the facility
- Engage in discharge planning and the development of activity care plans
- Manage and implement current event calendars across various units
- Participate in community outreach and events
- Provide one-on-one support to residents
- Coordinate transportation for activity outings
- Distribute mail and publications to residents
Qualifications for the Recreational Activities Coordinator:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Preferred experience in Long-Term Care settings
- Experience in organizing and leading group activities
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse individuals
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Adhere to confidentiality standards in compliance with regulations
- Valid driver's license required
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine understanding of the needs of older adults
