Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is a vital member of the Trinity Health team, responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and admission processes in the Emergency Department at Mercy Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance requirements and benefits, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Collect upfront payments, co-pays, and deductibles, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately input demographic, financial, and advanced directive information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with patients to obtain necessary information, identifying authorized parties and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
  • Explain hospital regulations, patient rights, and health care proxy information to patients and their families.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for college education.
  • Strong medical terminology skills and experience in medical office, hospital, or physician billing settings.
Benefits and Highlights
  • 32 hours per week, with a rotating evening schedule including every other weekend in the ED.
  • Initial training requires 2 weeks of Monday-to-Friday day shifts.
  • Additional EPIC training will be required, including daytime hours and some time in Connecticut.
