Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team at the Hampton Inn & Suites Texarkana. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their stay is comfortable and memorable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Registration: Register guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner, using up-selling techniques to maximize room rates.
  • Front Desk Operations: Handle confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity. Answer and route calls as appropriate, and take guest messages with accuracy.
  • Sales and Marketing: Assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed by the General Manager. Offer and properly handle requests for wake-up calls.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Replenish continental breakfast as needed and keep the area clean. Ensure common area/lobby is clean. Perform laundry functions as directed.
  • Cash Handling: Check guests in and out of the hotel, process customer payments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Answer phone in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner. Promote hotel services, facilities, and outlets, and become informed and knowledgeable of upcoming events/functions in the hotel and in the surrounding area.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer, and inform supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances, or unhappy guests.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete daily paperwork, including cashing out, documenting all adjustments, miscellaneous postings, paid-outs, charges, and check-outs. Handle departmental accounting of monies, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a front desk or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling.
