Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) to join our team at Ironwood State Prison. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide medical care to patients in a correctional facility, performing medical assessments and providing medical treatment as authorized by your medical license. You will also provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff, instructing nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adhering to professional medical standards of care.

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and promote a safe and healthy environment.
- Develop and implement medical protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
