Job Summary

Total Respiratory & Rehab is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, selecting and instructing patients on the use of respiratory equipment, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and select the most appropriate respiratory equipment for each patient.
  • Instruct patients on the proper use and care of respiratory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise with respiratory equipment.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Rotate to various branches to support the business and patients, as business needs dictate.
  • Track and maintain follow-up on preventative maintenance and schedule visits for respiratory therapy equipment assigned to clients.
  • Assist with scheduled visits of clients receiving oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Complete patient accounts paperwork, including Plan of Care/Home assessments.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and the patient, family, caregiver, physician, and other healthcare agencies and staff on the case.
  • Conduct, participate, and attend educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, patients/clients, families, care givers, physicians, and interested community members on areas of need.
  • Assist with arrangement of necessary referral to community agencies or for those traveling, to assist in continuity of care.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans for agency patients/clients.
  • Assume full responsibility for actions, professional skills, and attitudes.
  • Support the organization by being loyal and informing the branch manager of areas of concern and problems to be resolved.
  • Keep cognizant of third-party reimbursement, criteria services, billing, patient/client paperwork, and equipment offered.
  • Must be willing to work after normal business hours and on weekends.
  • Oversee all clinical functions that are performed by the company.
  • Perform all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to take on extra tasks as necessary.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High degree of integrity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Respiratory care experience and/or home care experience in the field of respiratory care.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills related to Home Medical Equipment field.
  • Ability to effectively manage all respiratory products provided by the company.
  • Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people resulting in constructive working relationships.
  • People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Ability to cater to diverse customer base.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
