Respiratory Therapist

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients, including assessing their respiratory status, developing and implementing treatment plans, and educating patients and families on respiratory care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' respiratory status and develop treatment plans to improve their respiratory function.
- Provide respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and disease management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.
- Graduate of a respiratory care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations. The Respiratory Therapist must be able to lift and move patients, as well as work in a variety of settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and intensive care units.
