The company has made significant breakthroughs in the field, creating proprietary probiotic pipelines and a unique discovery platform to identify key bacterial strains and prebiotics.

As a Director of Data Engineering, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining Pendulum's data platform and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include leading a high-performing data engineering team, defining and driving the data infrastructure strategy, and ensuring data reliability, accessibility, and compliance with data governance standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to build data foundations that support machine learning, analytics, and business intelligence efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, proven leadership in managing data engineering teams, and the ability to align data strategies with business goals.

Pendulum offers a competitive salary of $175,000-$225,000, medical, dental, and vision benefits, commuter benefits, life and STD insurance, and a company match on 401(k).

Key requirements include an MSc/PhD in Computer Science or a related field, 10+ years of experience building and managing data infrastructure, and expertise in data pipelines, cloud platforms, and big data technologies.

The role will be fully hands-on with a couple of members on the team, with a plan to build out over the years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing data engineering team
  • Define and drive the data infrastructure strategy
  • Own the management and optimization of data warehouses and lakehouse
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to build data foundations
  • Ensure data reliability, accessibility, and compliance with data governance standards

Requirements:

  • MSc/PhD in Computer Science or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience building and managing data infrastructure
  • Expertise in data pipelines, cloud platforms, and big data technologies
