We are seeking a skilled Aftermarket Mechanic to join our team at Parker Hannifin Corporation Parker Aerospace Group. As an Aftermarket Mechanic, you will be responsible for the assembly and testing of aftermarket units, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Disassemble, clean, and evaluate field return units to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform functional testing to ensure units meet specifications.
- Assist in configuration control and ensure compliance with assembly instructions, overhaul manuals, and technical orders.
- Set up and operate various units, including complex subassemblies.
- Prepare paperwork and computer records for identification and traceability of components.
- Clean, disassemble, evaluate, assemble, test, troubleshoot, certify, and button-up aftermarket components and complex subassemblies.
- Provide source data to CAs for job cost estimates.
- Execute daily assembly and test assignments as directed.
- Confer with manufacturing engineers and supervision to ensure deviations from routine are authorized.
- Repair and build wiring harnesses with solderless and solder type connections.
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Test units to applicable specifications and bring any questionable characteristics to the attention of the supervisor.
- Originate neat and legible paperwork and maintain other records required for performance of the job.
- Maintain the work area in a neat condition and take proper care of all tools, gages, and equipment.
- Be capable and willing to instruct other employees within the areas of primary function.
- Coordinate carry-over jobs with next shift as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities/efforts with the classification/department.
- Meet the physical requirements of the job and work with both red oil and Skydrol oils.
- Be capable and willing to be certified and qualified in multiple product families within 45 days of reaching the top of the wage progression.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Ability to work with complex subassemblies and units.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to work with both red oil and Skydrol oils.
