Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Aftermarket Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our assembly and test team, you will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, and evaluating field return units, as well as performing functional testing prior to returning units to service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare units for assembly or disassembly by unwrapping and inspecting components for cleanliness and/or damage.
  • Responsible for preparation of paperwork and computer records for identification and traceability of components and accurate completion of traveler documentation.
  • Clean, disassemble, evaluate, assemble, test, troubleshoot, certify, and button-up Aftermarket components and complex subassemblies, as required by Repair Orders and in accordance with technical orders, manuals, prints and/or processes.
  • Provide source data to CAs for job cost estimates and execute daily assembly and test assignments as directed while operating under the FIFO principle.
  • Must have the ability to work with, repair, and build wiring harnesses with solderless and solder type connections.
  • Able to read, interpret and work from blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Tests units to the applicable specifications and brings to the attention of the supervisor any questionable characteristics that are not covered by the specification.
  • Originates neat and legible paperwork and maintains other records that are required for performance of the job.
  • Maintains the work area in a neat condition and takes proper care of all tools, gages and equipment.
  • Must be capable and willing to instruct other employees within the areas of primary function.
  • Coordinates carry-over jobs with next shift as required.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities/efforts with the classification/department.
  • Must be able to work with both red oil and Skydrol oils while also meeting the physical requirements of the job.
  • Shall be capable and shall be willing to be certified and qualified in multiple product families, within 45 days of reaching the top of the wage progression.
