POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Equipment Operator is responsible for upholding rigorous sanitary standards during the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery, ensuring compliance with high-quality manufacturing specifications in a safe environment. This role emphasizes continuous improvement across various operational metrics, including Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Cost. Operators advancing to higher levels will build upon their foundational skills while enhancing their leadership capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and oversee assigned machinery to identify product defects and machine issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve quality, formulation, and machine performance challenges.
  • Adhere to established quality control protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Complete all job-related documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workspace, equipment, and materials at all times.
  • Conduct cleaning tasks to ensure sanitary conditions before, during, and after job processing.
  • Produce defect-free products that are properly labeled and meet established standards.
  • Utilize various tools, including hand tools and power equipment, as necessary.
  • Report any discrepancies related to safety, quality, or operational concerns to management.
  • Possess a basic understanding of mathematics and algebra.
  • Consistently follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Exhibit flexibility in work scheduling to accommodate business needs.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

Manufacturing Equipment Operator I

  • Familiarize with necessary SOP and GMP guidelines.
  • Operate assigned machinery effectively.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Foster teamwork and communication.
  • Complete training requirements as outlined.
  • Assemble and disassemble machinery as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation.
  • Independently troubleshoot minor machinery and product issues.
  • Understand safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Conduct quality checks (e.g., weights, visual inspections).
  • Complete all Technician I requirements within the designated timeframe.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
