Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Department Associate to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our grocery team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, answering questions and making recommendations on products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the meat department, sales floor, and backrooms.
  • Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods in accordance with company standards, recipes, and policies.
  • Perform required temperature monitoring and maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
  • Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment, manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner, and provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins, and to multi-task, set priorities, present information in a professional manner, and work with all levels of the organization.
Requirements
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills that engage our customers and associates.
  • Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
  • Ability to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
  • Previous experience in food preparation.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
  • Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
