KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching Strategies

Utilize a diverse array of instructional strategies aimed at fostering comprehensive understanding and tailored learning experiences for all students, including those with special needs.

Leverage assessment data to inform instructional adjustments for varying student performance levels.

Focus on a College-Going Culture, Engaging Discourse, Analytical Writing, Effective Study Habits, and Strategic Planning aligned with educational standards, incorporating technology through blended learning approaches.

Learning Environment
Establish and maintain a supportive, organized, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.

Develop a clear classroom management plan and maintain thorough documentation of interventions prior to student referrals.

Performance and Assessment

Strive for excellence in all aspects of the organization’s core values and instructional methodologies as outlined in the Teacher Effectiveness Framework.

Communicate clearly with students and families regarding class objectives, assignments, and grading criteria.

Utilize educational software to keep accurate records of attendance and academic progress, ensuring timely submission of report cards and assessments.

Collaboration

Work in partnership with Special Education and ELL teams to ensure curriculum accessibility for all students.

Engage in monthly parent meetings, back-to-school events, and conferences, tracking efforts to maintain meaningful communication with families.

Curriculum Development

Design an engaging curriculum that aligns with high-priority standards as identified in the organization’s instructional guides and state educational standards.

Regularly submit lesson plans to the Principal as required.
Professional Expectations
Actively participate in all professional development opportunities.

Adhere to required school hours, maintain a professional appearance, and follow the professional code of conduct.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree – required, Master's - preferred.

Possession of a valid teaching credential or permit required for the position.

Desirable certifications include Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language or Academic Development certificates, or EL Authorization.

Passion for teaching in a diverse educational setting.
Ability to manage student behavior effectively.
Capacity to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
Proven success in working with students from historically underserved communities.
