Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement training programs for phlebotomy staff to ensure they meet competency levels and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Train and monitor staff on specimen collection, handling, and processing procedures to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with department supervisors and assistant supervisors to ensure effective training and monitoring of staff.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with laboratory procedures and regulations.
- Provide backup phlebotomy coverage as needed and participate in departmental quality assurance programs.
- Operate general laboratory equipment and effectively communicate with laboratory staff and customers.
- High School Diploma or GED required; certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the laboratory and with laboratory customers.
- Ability to read and write.
- Physical demands include light to medium lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
This role requires working in a temperature-controlled environment with constant exposure to biological and chemical hazards. May be required to operate fire and safety equipment or follow other safety procedures in an emergency situation.
