Reporting To:
Financial Controller

Compensation:
$38-42/hr based on experience

Work Arrangement:
Initial onsite presence required, potential for hybrid model in the future

Contract Length:
Starting with a one-month assignment, likely extending to three months with further opportunities

Office Structure:
This role is part of a two-person Accounting & Finance team, consisting of a Controller and a bookkeeper responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. The Controller requires assistance with the more complex tasks typically handled by a Staff Accountant. The organization comprises 20 full-time and 20 part-time employees.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post closing journal entries
- Record accrual entries
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Input accounting data into business logs
- Review financial records for accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain and organize financial documentation

Preferred Qualifications:
- 7-8+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role
- Familiarity with year-end closing processes
- Proficient in journal entries and accruals
- Experience with QuickBooks software
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills in accounting

Interview Process:
Initial virtual screening with the Financial Controller, followed by an in-person interview.
