We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Counsel to join our team at Nationwide Private Client. As a Senior Counsel, you will provide expert advice and counsel on complex reinsurance and alternative risk matters, working closely with our business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice and counsel on reinsurance and alternative risk matters, including captives, structured insurance solutions, and catastrophe bonds.
- Review and negotiate reinsurance and fronting agreements, including ancillary agreements and advise on issues involving reinsurance intermediaries, program administrators, and third-party administrators.
- Advise on the establishment, regulation, and ongoing governance and administration of reinsurance entities and captive insurers.
- Address licensing and registration requirements, as well as domestic and foreign entity reinsurance license and registration requirements.
- Familiarity with various insurance products, including Property & Casualty, Collateral Protection Insurance, Financial Guaranty Insurance, and Trade Credit & Political Risks Insurance.
- Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
- 15 or more years of relevant legal experience, with significant experience in reinsurance and alternative risk matters.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization and with business partners.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and negotiate complex agreements.
