Position Overview: Watershed Technician

If you are dedicated to the stewardship and upkeep of watershed infrastructure, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation efforts. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the integrity of watershed dams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating in and delivering presentations at local Soil and Water Conservation District meetings.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with district officials regarding the status of dams.
  • Conducting thorough site evaluations, inspections, and preparing detailed reports on watershed dams.
  • Assisting in the organization and documentation of maintenance records for dam facilities.
  • Supporting Project Managers in the supervision of construction and maintenance initiatives.
  • Facilitating effective communication with regulatory agencies and landowners.
  • Overseeing the management of invoices and contractual agreements.
  • Collaborating with other state agencies to achieve the objectives of the Watershed Dam Program.

Qualifications: A valid Georgia driver's license and a background check are required. An Associate's degree or two years of relevant experience is advantageous. Some positions may necessitate specific licenses and certifications.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This role is integral to advancing environmental initiatives and ensuring the safety and functionality of watershed systems.
