Job Overview
Volt is seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our team in Oxford, Ohio. This role will play a crucial part in promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

About the Role
As a Safety Engineer at Volt, you will be responsible for leading and promoting a safety-first culture within the organization. You will ensure that all facilities adhere to safety and environmental programs, regulations, and company policies. Your duties will include performing job hazard analyses, reviewing location standards, and training associates on general safety and environmental awareness. Additionally, you will work closely with the Safety Manager to create training programs and maintain required records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and promote a safety-first culture within the organization.
  • Assure facilities are following safety and environmental programs, regulations, and company policy.
  • Perform job hazard analysis to identify potential loss and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review location standards, policies, and practices to ensure they are current and compliant.
  • Train associates on general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements, and job-specific tasks.
  • Maintain required records and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Conduct warehouse safety and environmental inspections.
  • Organize and coordinate emergency response efforts.
  • Conduct ergonomics assessments and implement solutions.
  • Lead the safety committee and facilitate ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 initiatives.
  • Coordinate accident investigations and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in safety and environmental or engineering roles.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and OH DEP regulations.
  • Accident investigation experience.
  • Familiarity with job safety analysis processes.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general databases/web-based applications.
  • Ability to train large groups and manage projects with timely delivery.
