Job Description:

\

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented pharmacist to provide pharmacy services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other medical staff by interpreting and evaluating the validity and safety of orders and prescriptions. The ideal candidate will integrate core pharmacy knowledge dispensing and order review activities.

\

The pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring that drugs are handled in the facility in a manner that protects the safety and welfare of the patient. This includes setting policies and procedures related to drug handling and distribution, which will be reviewed and updated annually. The pharmacist will also be responsible for maintaining methadone inventories, conducting biennial inventory, and participating in regulatory agency surveys or audits.

  • Ensure the maximum level of safety and efficacy in the provision of pharmaceutical services.\
  • Maintain patient profiles on each individual.\
  • Dispense take-home medication to eligible patients.\
  • Conduct biennial inventory.\
  • Participate in regulatory agency surveys or audits.\

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and be currently licensed as a pharmacist in Louisiana. They must also have or obtain certification in CPR and First Aid, as well as understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State and CARF standards and regulations.

The candidate should have knowledge of medications that interfere with the effectiveness of methadone and be able to recognize overdose of methadone and take appropriate action per program protocol.
