Join Our Team as a Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Jacobs, a leading provider of technical, professional, and management services. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of systems engineering processes and procedures for our space exploration programs.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge space exploration projects, collaborating with a talented team of engineers and scientists to design, develop, and integrate complex systems. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing definition and traceability of design and construction requirements
  • Developing and maintaining detailed requirement specification documents
  • Supporting verification and validation planning of design and construction requirements
  • Developing and leading the implementation of required requirements and design review plans
  • Negotiating interfaces with other teams and stakeholders
  • Providing risk management support
  • Assisting with technical and programmatic reviews
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree from an ABET-accredited institution (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 15 years of experience in space vehicle hardware design, definition of interface, design, and verification requirement, development of operations concepts, and/or hardware acceptance reviews
  • Experience in project planning and technical integration
  • Experience reading/interpreting/understanding hardware engineering drawings
  • Experience supporting, organizing, or leading technical/milestone reviews and discussions
  • Outstanding negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Capability to breakdown complex problems or issues into manageable pieces
  • Excellent written and oral technical communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

We are also looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Hardware production, preferably with composite materials, structures, or components
  • Model-based systems engineering applications such as MagicDraw, Cameo, or DOORs NexGen (DNG)
  • NASA Systems Engineering and NASA Risk Management policies and procedures related to technical management
