Job Title: Security Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Manager to join our team at The Grand America Hotel. As a Security Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all security-related policies, rules, and procedures, and direct subordinates in carrying out day-to-day security-related duties.
  • Exercise strong leadership skills and practice self-discipline.
  • Reviews and maintains incident reports, including CCTV footage, and disseminates to the appropriate parties.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Security, manage employee engagement and performance.
  • Develop strategies to protect the assets of the hotel.
  • Assists Director of Security with scheduling and payroll.
  • Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff, including training on policy and procedures.
  • Oversees the reporting of all incidents; coordinate activities and liaise with local and federal law enforcement agencies, risk management, and ensure a safe environment for guests and staff and a quality guest experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to report any health and safety hazards.
  • Act as first response for the hotel and respond to any urgent situation timely and accordingly.
  • Excel in reporting any incidents according to hotel policy to Management and/or HR.
  • Demonstrate consistency in offering professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Manage process for guest lost and found property and logging in accordance with policy.
  • Coordinate drug testing for reasonable suspicion and post-accident per policy.
  • Manage and train in creating keys for employees and guests, providing appropriate access levels.
  • Monitor and respond to fire alarms in accordance with policy.
  • Coordinates all training and development for Security Agents I, II, III, and Supervisor.
  • Reviews policies with agents and signs-off on trainings.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure compliance and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Excellent knowledge of security industry best practices across relevant security operations (loss prevention, conflict resolution, access control, etc.).
  • Analytical, detailed-oriented, organized, result-oriented, articulate.
  • Meets all requirements of Security Agent I, II, III, and Supervisor.
  • 6+ years of experience in security or other related field or combination of experience and education.
  • And 2+ years of supervisor experience or 8+ years of experience in security or other related field.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior de-escalation certification required.
  • Proficient using a computer and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of security and crisis management-related law and regulation.
  • Self-starter, independent, good presentation, and problem-solving skills.
