Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced English Language Development Teacher to join our team at the School District of Lancaster. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English language skills to students who are learning English as a second language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of English language learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in language instruction and incorporate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Requirements
  • Appropriate Pennsylvania teaching certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a master's degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in language instruction.
