About the Role

Apple is seeking a skilled CAD Flow Automation Engineer to join our team of experts in designing and developing innovative hardware solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms to automate CAD design processes, ensuring efficient and accurate results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement machine learning algorithms to automate CAD design processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative hardware solutions
  • Work closely with engineers to understand their needs and requirements for various CAD applications
  • Apply advanced techniques to address these requirements across multiple products and reduce duplicate design work
  • Validate and enhance ML-based applications, implement enhancements, and evaluate external vendor packages and solutions from EDA providers and open-source
Requirements
  • Experience in developing object-oriented programs, utilizing data structures, and writing algorithms
  • Experience in writing machine learning algorithms, implementing natural language processing (NLP), or using large language models in industry applications
  • Knowledge of transistor-level electrical engineering and related software tools for circuit analysis, such as simulation, timing, EM/IR, layout, extraction, or power analysis
  • Day-to-day experience working with the UNIX shell environment and code revision control systems
  • Experience leading industry software development projects
  • Minimum requirement of BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electrical engineering machine learning applications
  • Experience with large language models, including fine-tuning, retrieval augmented generation, and prompt engineering
  • Experience with server management, and parallel computing platforms such as LSF, NC, AWS, etc.
  • Experience creating web technologies using React, REST APIs, and equivalent
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Commitment to excellence and productivity
  • Experience in development of large scale software systems in multi-user, multi-site environments
  • Ability to drive small software development team to develop novel and complex applications
