Position: Engineer/Geologist Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Louisville, KY team as an Engineer/Geologist Intern. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to various projects, including construction and environmental site inspections, laboratory testing, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively enrolled in an engineering or science degree program and available during the fall 2024 and/or winter 2025 semester periods.
  • Travel to various construction and environmental sites primarily throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, with the potential for overnight and/or weekend assignments.
  • Relay information to project managers and engineers, with limited in-field decision-making.
  • Perform field and laboratory tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Geotechnical Group Engineers.
  • Enter daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.

Requirements:

  • Actively enrolled in an engineering or science degree program and available during the winter and/or summer 2025 semester periods.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Reasoning, critical thinking, mathematical, and language skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs, stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour workday in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
