Job Title: Elementary Art Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elementary Art Teacher to join our team at PLAYDAY. As an Art Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and teaching engaging art classes and projects to children aged 3-6 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop engaging art classes and projects that align with PLAYDAY's curriculum and schedule.
  • Communicate and present class content/project to the manager for approval prior to the class.
  • Suggest and propose ideas for specific art projects that align with PLAYDAY's curriculum.
  • Lead, teach, and instruct children in various creative art classes and projects at onsite and offsite locations.
  • Prepare for art projects by setting up class and materials in a timely manner.
  • Keep children engaged and focused on art projects, homework, or other relevant activities.
  • Lead each class activity in accordance with PLAYDAY's mission and values.
  • Follow and implement all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and on other Company platforms.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all children.
  • Maintain required paperwork and other necessary records.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with the store manager.
  • Maintain class areas clean during and after classes, as well as between projects and at the end of the shift.
  • Pick up children from their schools or bus stops within walking distance to the PLAYDAY location.
  • Maintain a positive and uplifting attitude, provide encouragement, and interact with children and caregivers as they participate in class.
  • Remain engaged and present in class for the entire duration of the class offering/project.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude when engaging with children, parents, caregivers, and PLAYDAY staff members.
  • Create a fun and engaging learning environment for children.
  • Perform duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree in the ARTS from an accredited College or University required.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working with children in the creative field, preferably ages 3-6 years old.
  • Ability to work on weekends.
  • Prior experience in the arts field.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
