The Role
The High School English Language Arts Educator will be responsible for teaching a robust literature curriculum that prioritizes inclusive texts, emphasizes diversity, and prepares students for Advanced Placement (AP), SAT, and collegiate level coursework. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the subject matter and a passion for creating an engaging, rigorous classroom culture that fosters student growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach from a shared curriculum that prioritizes inclusive texts and prepares students for AP, SAT, and collegiate level coursework
- Conduct daily content exploration to guide students in analyzing books by authors like James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Shakespeare, and Yaa Gyasi
- Develop students' independent and collaborative reading, writing, and discussion skills
- Facilitate student-led discourse, teaching students to use evidence to make sophisticated claims and synthesize arguments and rhetoric
- Analyze student comprehension and writing regularly and adapt lessons to maximize student learning
- Partner with department and grade level teams on content and instructional strategies

Salary and Benefits
The starting compensation for this role is between $65,000 to $90,600. Our comprehensive benefits package includes generous paid time off, extensive training and development opportunities, choice of health insurance plans, financial planning and wellness resources, and dependent care support.
