Job Title: Electrical Engineer 7 (Substation)

Job Summary:

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer 7 to lead the design of high-voltage substation projects. The successful candidate will have expertise in protective relay schemes, relay schematics, and equipment specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of high-voltage substation projects, including detailed design for substation projects up to 345kV.
  • Develop and implement protective relay schemes, relay schematics, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including white papers and technical design documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and mentor them for future growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 12 years of related experience, with expertise in high-voltage substation design and protective relay schemes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) software and practices.
