Job Title: Electrical Engineer 7 (Substation)

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer 7 (Substation) to join our team. As a key member of our electrical engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for high-voltage substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for high-voltage substation projects, including protective relay schemes, relay schematics, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including white papers and technical design documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 12 years of related experience.
  • Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
