Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Position Overview
Tenet Massachusetts is in search of a dedicated Recreation/Recreational Therapist to join our team in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Job Responsibilities
As a Recreation Therapist, you will engage in essential professional activities that involve the assessment, planning, and execution of Therapeutic Recreation programs. Your role will focus on enhancing, maintaining, or restoring functional abilities, preventing disabilities, and aiding patients in achieving their highest potential in leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational pursuits.

Key Duties
In this role, you will:

• Conduct assessments and create individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and capabilities.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive recreational therapy care plans.
• Evaluate patients' previous leisure lifestyles and set therapeutic goals aimed at facilitating their optimal functioning.
• Design and execute diversionary activity programs as necessary.
• Support patients' social integration throughout their rehabilitation process.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, or a related field.
• Preferred: At least one year of experience as a Recreation Therapist.
• Certification eligibility from the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), or a Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
