Position Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will collaborate closely with the VP of Production to offer expert guidance and support to various stakeholders, including managers, technical personnel, employees, and contractors. The goal is to foster continuous enhancement of Meati's EHS Management System and cultivate a robust EHS culture while achieving key performance indicators related to EHS.
- Assist in the formulation and execution of site-specific EHS and industrial hygiene policies and procedures that comply with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Design and implement comprehensive environmental management initiatives, focusing on waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental regulations (e.g., EPA) and corporate environmental policies.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits to pinpoint potential environmental hazards and guarantee the implementation of appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Lead efforts to minimize the company's environmental impact, including initiatives for energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction.
- Prepare and submit necessary environmental reports to regulatory bodies.
- Oversee EHS-related incident investigations, ensuring proper escalation, root cause analysis, and the execution of sustainable corrective measures.
- Monitor and analyze injuries, near-miss incidents, safety observations, and property damage occurrences.
- Develop and deliver effective EHS training programs based on assessed training needs.
- Assist in measuring, monitoring, and reporting site-specific EHS-related key performance indicators to management.
- Facilitate EHS teams aimed at enhancing employee engagement and empowerment.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to management and staff on safe work practices and behaviors.
- Offer guidance and support to employees regarding EHS inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
- Independently resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more intricate matters to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Safety Management, or a related field, or 1-3 years of relevant EHS experience in food or industrial manufacturing.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of applicable EHS and environmental standards and regulations.
- Ability to influence and effectively present recommendations to others.
- Strong collaborative skills, capable of working efficiently with diverse groups and cross-functional teams.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Experience in developing and/or implementing OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program, ISO 45001, or related ISO Management Systems is preferred.
- Willingness to work during non-standard hours to meet business requirements.
Salary: The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 annually, which is just one component of our overall compensation package. This role is also eligible for a potential annual bonus and equity. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
