Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Meati Foods. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing site-specific EHS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and corporate policies.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits to identify potential risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction programs.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Lead EHS-related incident investigations, ensure proper escalation, root cause analysis, and completion of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Track and trend injuries, near-miss events, safety observations, and property damage incidents.
  • Develop and deliver effective EHS-related training based on training needs assessments.
  • Assist with measuring, monitoring, and reporting site-specific EHS-related key performance indicators to management.
  • Facilitate EHS teams to increase employee engagement and empowerment.
  • Coach and mentor management and employees on safe work practices and behaviors.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding EHS questions, concerns, and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, safety management, or related field OR 1-3 years of related EHS experience in a food manufacturing or industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant EHS and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Ability to influence others and present recommendations effectively.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with diverse groups and cross-functional teams.
  • Creative thinking skills with the ability to balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing and/or implementing OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program, ISO 45001, or related ISO Management System preferred.
  • Flexible in working during non-business hours to meet business needs.
