Radiation Therapist Role Summary:
This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves working with patients who are undergoing cancer treatment. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive safe and effective treatment, while also maintaining accurate medical records and treatment schedules.
You will work closely with Radiation Oncologists to develop treatment plans and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery. Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will need to communicate complex information to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treats patients with ionizing radiation in adherence to all regulatory guidelines
- Maintains accurate medical records and treatment schedules
- Inputs treatment and simulation charge information into Aria
- Documents patient treatment chart
Educational Requirements: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent. ARRT registered or registry eligible, must pass registry within 90 days of employment.
Physical Requirements: The position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
