Diagnostic Sonographer Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and adjust equipment to perform exams, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, recognizing significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning, reporting potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct labeling and patient data.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a sonography certification program.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
