Job Purpose

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounting, cash management, and financial reporting for metricaUSA. This role reports to the Controller for metricaUSA.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Record customer payments and make bank deposits.
  2. Maintain knowledge and data entry of Accounts Payable, including review of outstanding bills and determination of cash requirements.
  3. Accurately input financial data into Quickbooks Online.
  4. Develop in-depth knowledge of project revenues and expenses, working closely with project managers to ensure project profit goals are met or exceeded.
  5. Maintain project-related subcontractor cost tracking and job progress.
  6. Keep thorough knowledge of all vendors and materials inventory.
  7. Review and maintain project estimates and purchase orders in company production databases.
  8. Ensure employee compliance with company travel policy, including travel reimbursement processes.
  9. Regularly review company credit card access and transactions, maintaining proper expense support and reducing fraud.
  10. Complete timely invoicing to all customers and review Schedule of Value Reports.
  11. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  12. Complete sales tax submissions.
  13. Assist in IT support.
  14. Perform review and analysis of special projects, keeping the leadership team updated.
  15. Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and clients while providing general support.
  16. Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including depreciation and amortization tracking.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting and finance principles, procedures, and systems.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn Quickbooks online, Innergy, MS Office, Excel, and Adobe.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to instill that focus in others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time (40+ hours).
  • Work in office out of Northampton, MA.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate.
  • Dexterity utilizing hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines.
