About the Role

GAI Consultants is seeking an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to lead our civil discipline team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing direction and guidance to our engineering and drafting staff, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Plan, mentor, and coach junior-level engineering and drafting staff to ensure their growth and development.
  • Task Management: Manage tasks, budgets, and schedules for multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Proposal Preparation: Collaborate with other engineering leads to develop proposals, including scope and budget development, and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Draft site reports, design narratives, meeting minutes, and project memorandums to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other engineering leads to coordinate resources, schedules, and performance of QA/QC peer reviews.
  • Field Condition Assessments: Conduct independent field condition assessments to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • Project Delivery: Manage bid and construction phase services, including responding to bidder questions, contractor requests for information, and submittal reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with knowledge of NPDES Permitting requirements and construction practices (required).
  • Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, HY-8, Pondpack, Hydraflow, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other related engineering software (required).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (required).
  • Driver's License (required).
