We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Forefront Dermatology. As a Mohs Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in assisting our surgeons during procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during Mohs procedures, including setting up sterile supplies and anticipating their needs.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including obtaining medical and surgical history, accurate lists of medications and allergies, and documenting in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Provide wound care instruction and dress patients after surgery.
- Take photographs of Mohs stages, label and organize them, and handle specimens for pathology.
- Assist with procedure room maintenance, including case preparation, room turnover, and instrument processing.
- Pre-certify and schedule Mohs surgical procedures.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or Derm Tech in a Dermatology, Mohs Surgery, or other surgical setting is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and sterilization practices is essential.
- Experience with EHR and Practice Management System is a plus.
- Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
