We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our team as a tenure-track professor of fiction at Claremont McKenna College. The successful candidate will have a strong record of publication and a proven track record of excellence in teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate fiction workshops and seminars, including the first-year writing seminar
- Develop and lead the creative writing program, including curriculum development and program assessment
- Mentor and advise students, providing guidance on their writing and academic careers
- Contribute to the department's research and scholarly activities
- Participate in departmental and college-wide service activities
- Ph.D. in Creative Writing or a related field
- Strong record of publication in fiction, including at least one published book
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching, including experience teaching fiction workshops and seminars
- Ability to develop and lead a creative writing program, including curriculum development and program assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching creative writing at the college level
- Publication in creative nonfiction
- Experience with program development and leadership
