We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Sentara Healthcare. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our MRI operational area, while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations with precision and accuracy, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of MRI technology and procedures, staying up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in a Rad Tech position, including Radiologic Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or Ultrasound.
  • Completion of an MRI school or MRI certificate program, or a 24-month program in radiologic technology.
  • 6 months of MR experience or completion of an MR didactic program.
  • ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT certification within 2 years of hire.
  • CNMT, ARDMS, ARRT, or ARMRIT certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) RQI.
