Job Summary

Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach accounting classes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and be able to effectively communicate with students.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, develop, and implement instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assist and advise students with academic matters, including assignments, tests, and grades.
  • Research and develop skills assessments to evaluate student performance.
  • Promote student success through timely communication and growth-based feedback.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and providing grades.
  • Meet professional expectations by maintaining currency and contributing to a collaborative culture.
  • Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
  • Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness and technology training.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an Associate Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program, or one year of recent related occupational experience with at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Qualified per FVTC requirements and Higher Learning Commission standards.

  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction and assessment.
  • Skilled in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
  • Skilled in communications and human relations with diverse populations.
  • Skilled in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to effectively interact with business and industry to establish partnerships.

Additional Information

The hourly pay rate for this position is $45.00 per hour. Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
