Position Summary

We are seeking a Strategy Associate to support an international U.S. Government Agency. This role will focus on advancing the agency's investment and portfolio strategy.

The primary work will be conducted at the U.S. government agency's office in Washington, DC, with potential for remote work in line with contract stipulations. This position is dependent on contract award.

Key Responsibilities

The Strategy Associate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Support the identification of portfolios across various markets, sectors, and regions to enhance development impact and align with strategic priorities, particularly concerning climate initiatives.
  • Identify critical markets and partners for targeted climate action interventions.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking of industry best practices, performing analysis and coordinating with relevant stakeholders, including clients, peer development finance institutions, and industry leaders.
  • Assist in establishing metrics and objectives to evaluate the success of the agency's portfolio across financial, impact, and strategic dimensions.
  • Perform modeling and analysis to assess the agency's performance metrics and objectives.
  • Evaluate the tactical and operational planning processes that set measures for assessing the agency's strategic goals.
  • Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of the agency's program and policy operations.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for developing comprehensive plans that optimize the use of human, physical, and financial resources, collaborating effectively with other offices to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Experience in developing processes for business improvements or strategic planning within an agency.
  • Experience in enhancing organizational performance metrics or in developing investment strategies, such as experience in banking, investment funds, development finance, or impact investing.
  • Proficiency in gathering raw data to create analytical models using software such as Excel or similar tools.
