Job Summary

The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks a highly qualified physician scientist to join our team as a researcher in health services, clinical and/or translational research. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in active collaborative research and build a clinical and/or translational research program in the division, with a focus on cancer research.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of successful publications in peer-reviewed journals, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. They will also have evidence of excellence in teaching and a strong potential to obtain extramural funding.

Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service
  • Outreach service at approved UW Health locations, as well as inpatient call coverage
  • Protected time to develop a research program or teaching program and to engage in scholarly activities
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of your clinical practice
  • Proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants
Requirements
  • Terminal degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
  • Experience in health services, clinical and/or translational research
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching
  • Potential to obtain extramural funding
