Mechanic Trainee Position

Estes Express Lines is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Trainee to join our team. As a leading LTL freight carrier, we take pride in our highly qualified mechanics across the network. This entry-level position offers a competitive rate with opportunities for career advancement into higher-level mechanic or management positions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist experienced mechanics with minor repairs and interpret work orders under their guidance.
- Access required parts and tools to perform work and assist with testing repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Regular attendance is required, and the ability to work independently or in a team setting is essential.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet operational, safety, and other needs.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to use hand tools and test equipment under the direction of trained mechanics and/or Shop Management.
- Physical activities include walking, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, and other tasks that require strength and stamina.
- Must have an acceptable MVR and be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills are required.
- Self-starting and organized with a strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs. or more if required by the essential functions of the job.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud as required by the essential functions of the job.
