Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking a highly qualified Noncredit Instructor for Addiction and Substance Abuse to join our team. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching courses in addiction and substance abuse to students in our Noncredit program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in addiction and substance abuse to students in our Noncredit program
  • Develop and implement curriculum for addiction and substance abuse courses
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement program goals and objectives
  • Participate in department and college-wide committees and activities
Requirements
  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or sociology, or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
  • OR Associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
  • OR Bachelor's or Associate degree in Addiction Paraprofessional Training
  • OR Bachelor's degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, dietetics, or nutrition, or an associate degree in any of those subjects, and four years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience teaching content related to addiction and substance abuse
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and implementation
  • Ability to assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
