About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Comprehensive Wound Care Specialist at Harlem Center for Nursing in Harlem, NY.

 

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering comprehensive wound care services, including prevention and treatment programs, to optimize resident outcomes. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care and support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized wound care plans, taking into account resident needs, preferences, and medical histories.
  • Conduct regular wound assessments, track progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate staff, residents, and families on wound management best practices, including prevention strategies and dressing selections.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident progress, including wound analysis reports and treatment plans.

 

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of New York.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations, particularly those related to wound care and long-term care.
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wound care certification.
  • Previous experience in long-term care settings.
  • Familiarity with PointClickCare software.
