Join the City of Los Angeles, CA team as a Helicopter Mechanic and be part of a dynamic and innovative organization. As a Helicopter Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, overhauling, servicing, cleaning, and returning all City-owned helicopters to service.
Key Responsibilities:- Performing FAR Part 91 or Part 135 required inspections
- Approving aircraft for return to service in accordance with FAR 43.9 or 43.11, or completion of the City of Los Angeles Helicopter Mechanic Training Program
- Inspecting, repairing, overhauling, servicing, cleaning, and returning all City-owned helicopters to service
- Performing electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting activities
- Sheet metal repairs on airframes and major component overhaul or repair
- Three years of full-time paid experience as an FAA Certified Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic
- Two years of experience must have been within the past three years
- Experience must include manufacturers scheduled inspections, electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting activities, sheet metal repairs on airframes, and major component overhaul or repair
- Experience in electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting
- Experience in engine repair and troubleshooting
- Experience in sheet metal repair and fabrication
- Experience in composite materials repair and fabrication
- Experience in component overhaul and/or repair
- Experience in helicopter vibration analyzation and correction
