The Role
This role is dedicated to providing guidance and case management for adult learners seeking to achieve a high school equivalency diploma or enhance their foundational education skills. Responsibilities include assisting with enrollment processes and identifying suitable class placements, career pathways, and opportunities for further education.
The position also involves maintaining confidential student records and case files, while supporting the Adult Education & Workforce Preparation Program by offering advice and resources to facilitate students' transitions into the workforce or higher education.
Additionally, this role requires adherence to all institutional and regulatory guidelines regarding student records and data management as mandated by the College and relevant authorities. Flexibility in scheduling, including evening and weekend availability, is essential.

COMPENSATION OFFER:
The salary range for this position is as posted.
For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will typically be at the minimum of the range, taking into account experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide students in selecting appropriate class placements, identifying personal goals, and conducting assessments; ensure compliance with guidelines for students with special needs.
- Provide comprehensive advising throughout the student journey; assist in exploring options, setting objectives, and formulating plans to achieve desired outcomes; maintain proactive communication with students.
- Safeguard confidential student records and assist with registration and career readiness initiatives.
- Document case notes for students requiring structured case management; liaise with various human service agencies and refer students to relevant community resources.
- Collect, input, and analyze literacy data for the program, including student registrations and progress reports; prepare and submit recruitment and retention reports; collaborate with instructors to assess student progress.
- Facilitate student orientation sessions for Basic Skills programs; engage in instructor and professional development training as necessary; participate in seminars and training sessions to stay informed on policy changes.
- Conduct semester closeout activities, including tabulating student contact hours and auditing class files for accuracy.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of retention strategies and reporting.
- Connect students with appropriate support services, including advising and comprehensive assistance such as case management, childcare, transportation support, and employment resources.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Two years of relevant experience in student services, teaching, or counseling within an educational setting, demonstrating strong interpersonal and service skills.
- Ability to lead projects and assist in supervising others.
- Experience in preparing and delivering workshops and presentations to adult learners, both in-person and online.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
- Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
